(09-2023) Good evening Lydia and Thijs,

We enjoyed this wonderful place and what a good atmosphere there is in this large house. We love it. We had excellent weather and enjoyed the surroundings and of course ate and drank like gods in France. The first week just the two of us and the following week our daughters and son-in-law came along, which was very nice. Really worth repeating. We will certainly make a choice from your offer again for next year.

Thank you for the good care and communication. We found this very pleasant.

Kind regards, Bas and Elaine

In short; it was a hit. The whole family was wildly excited about the choice I made. It really is a Petit Paradise. It was a stay with a golden edge.

(06-2023) Hello Lydia, Thijs,

I would like to tell you that we enjoyed a wonderful month in Masclat, Le Petit Paradis. Super sweet people Marc and Dany.
Eggs, lettuce, jam, wonderfully spoiled and also the blissful silence filled with crickets and bird sounds and bleating of sheep and lambs. The two cute donkeys etc… a real paradise!
My son has made beautiful aerial shots with drone.
Maybe also nice for Marc and Dany to see.

Being able to say goodbye to Marc, Dany was unfortunately on the road for work, very unfortunate but Marc will convey this.
Until next time, maybe Masclat again but always up for a new discovery if it is just as quiet and with a view.

Cordial greetings,
Ron and Bridget

(09-2022) Dear Lydia and Thijs,

Our stay was again very pleasant and pleasant, just like last year. We were spoiled again by Marc with his vegetables and delicious grapes. We also had a nice chat with Dani and Marc while enjoying a glass of wine with some tasty snacks on their balcony. So maybe worth repeating again or something in a different environment.

Kind regards from Petra and Gaston

(06-2022) Good morning Lydia and Thijs,

Yes we did enjoy our much delayed holiday. Four weeks – our 6th successful visit to Marc and Dani’s lovely cottage.

Originally planned for 2020, postponed for a year and then a further one we have enjoyed heatwaves, thunderstorms, rainy days, pleasant evenings, visits to brother and wife, and by son, his girlfriend and our daughter (all of whom suffered from Covid-19) and much time relaxing, reading and chatting around the pool.

Wildlife – red kites and squirrels, deer, jays, woodpeckers, bats, and swallows dipping and drinking from the pool, butterflies, hummingbird hawkmoths, livestock – sheep, cattle, ducks, geese, hens, mules, donkeys and horses all provided interest and entertainment.  We learned to take care when the air force jets zoomed over us at low altitude!

Oh and the night sky!

Although our visiting was somewhat restricted due to the virus several destinations included Sarlat, Souillac, Rocamadour, Gourdon, St Cyprien, Cadouin, Les Eyzies, Campagne and Siorac; they all proved to be worthwhile destinations for historical, architectural, retail, markets and gastronomical delights.

No particular restaurant destination recommendations this time – they are all very good but we learned that TripAdvisor seems to be quite out of date following post-pandemic closures.

A great trip with no problems although some of the resources’ replacement are overdue e.g., kitchen bin, laundry basket and some decent kitchen knives (note from FranceVilla: we will forward this to the owners)

Nicky

Hi Lydia, just wanted to say thanks for your help in our recent booking at Petit Paradis. We had the most relaxing, brilliant time there!

Thanks,
Arend

(05-2022) Hi Lydia,

Back home in the meantime and, as always, we had a wonderful time in France. It was the 4th time that we have chosen the house le Petit Paradis in Masclat, within your offer.
A wonderfully uncomplicated house with the right relaxed French charm, a lovely roof and a beautiful swimming pool, which is kept beautifully clean by the owner. From the location you look over the valley, from where the birds and the cicadas sing merrily. Can't believe that constant sound is so soothing. The owners of this house do everything they can to ensure that you have a wonderful holiday. You will be very kindly received and further guided (if there are any questions). Vegetables are regularly brought from our own garden and the fresh eggs from the chickens were also a very nice surprise. In short, all factors are present for a quiet, uncomplicated, nice outdoor holiday.

May is a wonderful period to visit the Dordogne. Nature is in full bloom. Around the house are trees (Acacias I think) in which a sea of white flowers gave off a wonderful scent. We had nothing to complain about the weather.

Have a nice weekend and maybe see you next time.

Kind regards,
Karin

(10-2021) Dear Lydia,

our 2 week stay at petit paradis was lovely. So nice, that we are thinking about renting again the first 2 weeks of September next year. Actually wanted in June, but understood from Marc that every year English people come and rent it for the whole month.
Perhaps you have suggestions that fall somewhat in the same price range.
Dani and Marc also had a drink with us one evening and we understood that you will see each other again soon, then you will also hear the story that happened to Gaston the first morning!
Also took some pictures, but don't know if that adds anything to your file.
Kind regards Gaston and Petra

(08-2021) Dear Lydia,

I haven't had time before to debrief our stay with you.

We had a GREAT time in Little Paradis. We loved our stay and the owners. They were so nice with us and it is so comforting to see such nice people nowadays. The landscape and the environment was just what we needed, we were able to welcome some friends and the pool was wonderful!

The house might need a little repairing as for squeaking doors or hard opening windows and little pest (insects) eating the wooden ceiling in the master bedroom but Mark knows about it and will take care of it.
Otherwise the place is splendid and well kept and equipped to spend a great time.
My dogs were also so happy to make nice walks every morning in the country!

Well, we are once again delighted about our reservation with you and will come back!

Best regards,

Frédérique R.

(10-2020) Good morning Lydia,
Back in the Netherlands after a wonderful holiday in the beautiful house Les petite paradis in the Dordogne.
What a beautiful place and what a lovely relaxed owners, Marc and Dany.
It is a very quiet beautiful place to stay.
Everything is present in the house, you will lack nothing.
There are many nice restaurants in the area where you can eat very well.
For example, Restaurant Le Pont and Delicatesse are recommended.
The best part is the swimming pool that Dany built himself, really lovely.
The house is pleasant and clean, but you are still very much outside under the beautiful roof and in the spacious garden.
A must for those who love space and tranquility.

(09-2020) Good morning Lydia,

we had a very nice holiday. The house and pool are absolutely beautiful, especially the pool
we enjoyed it very much. We've been lucky with the weather, had 30+ for 2 weeks.
We did some things, but due to the Corona a bit more limited than we would normally do.
If we wanted to leave, we did that early in the morning and made sure we were back at the house around 2 pm, before the crowds.

The welcome was very friendly, a very friendly and nice man. On arrival there was a bottle of rosé in the fridge. There is also
olive oil, coffee, tea, spices, breadcrumbs available which is also very pleasant.
We had brought a tin of stroopwafels for the owner, a tin with beautiful Dutch scenes, which was much appreciated.
When we said goodbye we received a delicious bag of biscuits and nut oil, very thoughtful.
We would like to come back to this beautiful holiday home again, but then when all Corona misery is over.

Stay healthy!!

Warm regards from René and Rennie

(08-2020) Hi,
We did very much enjoy our holiday. The owners were friendly and the pool was great.  We enjoyed walking in the local area and the village restaurant was excellent.
Unfortunately we cut short the stay by a couple of days to beat the UK quarantine rules but nevertheless it was still relaxing
Kind regards
Steve Samols

(06-2018) Hi Lydia,

Yes another wonderful stay at Masclat; our 5th and so we know the place pretty well.  Most relaxing and enjoyable period and glad that Scotland is basking in Masclat sunshine and temperatures for the next two weeks!

Best to all at France Villa

Nicky & Linda S.

(08-2017) Hi,

We had a lovely week in Mark's gite near Masclat. The situation was really lovely and quiet with an open aspect. It was ideal for our group with children as there was only 1 external door and the pool was fenced. The garden and patio area was spacious and we appreciated the covered dining area. The gite was well equipped and the accommodation flexible for groups of friends or families. The owners were very friendly and helpful and we appreciated the basket of garden vegetables!

We'd have no hesitation in recommending the gite.

(09-2014) Afternoon,

Many thanks for our recent stay in the Dordogne. The house and the surroundings were perfect - we had a fabulous time! We quickly got into a routine of exploring local villages in the morning, then back to the pool in the afternoon. The owners next door were really helpful, and the area was so peaceful - with so many interesting places just a short drive away. We also did plenty of cycling - there are some great villages to explore!
We were really please with the service from FranceVilla - we’d love to go back, and will certainly be in touch in the future.
I’ve attached a couple of photos for you!
Thanks again
Ian

(06-2011) Good morning Lydia,

We arrived yesterday and are thrilled to be back here. An outstanding property, location and facilities. You mentioned a meal at Gouffre de Blagour. What must we do to make use of this generous opportunity?
