If there was a point of criticism, it was that the house was so nice, that staying 'home' was sometimes more attractive than a trip ????.
Our thanks are sincere that we were allowed to rent this beautiful house, at this cost. Otherwise it would have really been at the limits of our budget.
Besides the thoughtful bottle of wine, some beers, soft drinks and ice cubes in the fridge, it was a very clean house. Nice to start your holiday like this.

We have been to France many times and have rarely had such a well appointed and clean home. The sea of space was lovely, tastefully decorated too.

Wow! We stayed for a week at Decouverte in August 2022 and it really was the most spectacular location. The villa itself was extremely well-equipped, with all the pots, pans, utensils and kitchen gadgets that you could ever need, and the gas barbecue on the patio was a breeze to cook on! The rooms were lovely; we only really used the main house, but the extra little annexe was also beautiful and would be perfect if holidaying with another couple or more grown up kids.
Communication from Lydia at France Villa was brilliant, she answered all our questions and took the time to talk with us on the telephone (in English) and advise us about the different villas available. The owners of the property were equally helpful and gave us our own space, but we knew they were on the end of the phone to ask questions and would have been nearby if we needed them (we didn’t, everything was great) as they live in a nearby town.
We only had a couple of days out while we were there – we visited the incredible caves at Gouffre de Padirac (go first thing in the morning to beat the queues), the free-roaming monkeys at La Foret des Singes and the lovely town of Rocamadour, all of which were less than 45 minutes away from the villa and a very pleasant drive through the Dordogne valley.
We didn’t spend much time out though, because the villa itself was so beautiful we just wanted to stay there! The stars of the show for us were the incredible pool on the patio, where you could practically reach out and touch the phenomenal view, and the veranda on the other side of the house where you could sit and have a drink in the evening and watch the spectacular sunsets. It really was the most wonderful week away and left us longing to up sticks and move to France!
I would highly recommend booking with France Villa – so much so in fact that we have re-booked for August 2023 in a different villa that also looks amazing! Can’t wait!

We would like to compliment the owners for their fantastic holiday home where we enjoyed staying for a week at the beginning of July. Benoit and Veronique helped us get better WIFI and they are very nice and humble. We think the house is great in terms of location and comfort and had a great week. We spent two wonderful weeks in Decouverte. We met the new owners, Veronique and Benoit, and talked to them about our experiences.
To start with, we found the house super clean. The equipment is also very complete, both the kitchen and the rest. It is nice that the house is not 'full' with belongings of the owner. That often makes a messy and dusty impression. The owners have yet to get to know the house well and plan to live there for a few weeks after the season. A lot of work has already been done in a relatively short period of time. Ground floor sanded and treated, upstairs new windows / frames etc. They will continue with that. They also go downstairs and replace the windows. The pool was lovely. Not big but we cooling. We have had two very warm weeks and we were pleasantly surprised that the water remains so nice and cold.
All in all we had a wonderful two weeks. From the house you can also make beautiful walks.
Thanks again for the good organization and information and for returning the deposit.

Thank you for your email. We very much enjoyed our stay at Decouverte. The house is lovely and the setting overlooking the valley just beautiful. Sunset every evening was amazing, even the stormy one! The rooms were very comfortable and the pool a good size, but we were puzzled by the instruction not to use any sun creams or oils. Having stayed in a number of villas with pools in different countries we have never come across this before, but did obey it.
When we arrived Sara had very kindly got the shopping for us and we were very grateful for that. She is very kind. We noted that the sun umbrella had a spoke broken, which meant it didn't open properly and so only one person could sit under it, and that the BBQ had a hole in it. We lined this foil so no ash fell through.
It is a lovely house.

The property is in a beautiful area and the children (young and old) enjoyed the pool very much.
