Inside

Inside, you will find a comfortable living area equipped with all the modern amenities you need. The house features 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, with two bedrooms and the bathroom conveniently located on the ground floor. The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped, making cooking and dining together a true pleasure.

Outside

Outdoor living is at the heart of La Source du Pech. Bordered by a scenic tree line, the house is set within a spacious garden featuring a beautiful private lake. Enjoy sun-drenched terraces, a jeu de boules court, a barbecue, and comfortable sun loungers around the private swimming pool. The covered terrace to the right of the house is the perfect spot for shaded dining and relaxation. The friendly owner lives in a separate residence on the estate at a respectful distance, ensuring your stay remains completely private and secluded.

Please note: For guests traveling with children, please ensure they have swimming certificates due to the presence of the lake. Please be aware that swimming in the lake is not permitted.

Surroundings

The location is ideal. A short drive brings you to the heart of Gourdon, offering all amenities including charming bakeries, supermarkets, and excellent restaurants such as Le Pot Occitan. The area is renowned for its medieval villages, vibrant markets (twice a week!), stunning nature, and rich culture. Rocamadour, Sarlat, and the "Valley of the Castles" are all within easy reach.

Highlight: The owner is an experienced helicopter pilot and offers guests the unique opportunity to explore the region from above. We have experienced this flight ourselves, and seeing the castles and the river from the air is simply breathtaking, an absolute must for an unforgettable holiday memory!

A bit late, but here is our review:

This summer, we booked our holiday at the very last minute. We happened to stumble upon the FranceVilla website by chance and found a lovely house that was still available (La Source du Pech).

Since we had a lot of questions, we gave them a call and spoke with Marieke. She was very friendly and immediately answered all our questions, providing us with plenty of useful information and tips.

The very next day, we booked our family holiday to Gourdon. Less than six days later, we were in the car on our way to France. After many enjoyable hours of driving, we arrived at our destination. The photos were beautiful, but in reality, it was even better! The friendly owner was already waiting for us. He spoke English and was very helpful.

We loved the house because it comes with all the necessary comforts (pool, kitchen, bathroom, plenty of bedrooms, air conditioning, garden, towels, and bed linen). You enjoy great privacy, and if needed, you are just a 4-minute drive from the town. The owner lives nearby, but you hardly notice it. He allowed us to pick fruit from his trees, access his pond, and the kids were able to feed his fish every day.

When we wanted to go out for dinner, places were often closed (French hours!), so we bought groceries locally and made great use of the house's BBQ. There is a lovely lake just an 8-minute drive away. We brought our own paddleboard and got a lot of use out of it.

Recommended outings (make sure to buy tickets online in advance):

- Canoeing on the Dordogne
- Castelnaud Castle
- Gouffre de Padirac

We will definitely be back next year! There is still more than enough to discover in and around Gourdon.

We would have loved to stay another week, it was wonderful. The four of us, including two children (ages 8 and 10). Great spot, lovely house with its own private pool. The owner also lives on the estate, but you don't notice him at all. If anything comes up, he is very helpful. We are definitely considering going back again.

Huge plus points:
- The house is in a delightfully quiet location, total relaxation.
- Great amenities in Gourdon, a 5-minute drive away (supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries).
- Centrally located for visiting the many sights in the region.
- If you're lucky, you might see a helicopter up close. :)

For people who want to completely unplug, this is a fantastic place, highly recommended. It is a lovely house with a private pool and garden, and a great base from which to explore the region.

Points of attention (first-world problems):
- Air conditioning is only available upstairs. With 39 degrees outside, the two bedrooms downstairs get warm at night.
- A bit more storage space for clothes in each room would be nice.

Our stay at the holiday home was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet. The silence was truly refreshing. We were also glad to have air conditioning in the top bedroom and to be able to cool off in the pool as much as we did.

The owner living on the property was also very friendly, especially when we had issues with the electricity, which they resolved quickly for us.
