Fall in love with Gîte Laurence, a beautifully renovated 17th-century sheep barn that has been lovingly transformed into a charming holiday home for 6 guests (+ baby).
Perched on a hill with breathtaking views over the fields and the Céou River, this property is a true haven of peace and French authenticity.

The large swimming pool (10 x 5 m) sits in a sheltered position, reached via a pretty little staircase. It is the perfect spot to relax, soak up the sun, and enjoy the scenery. Occasionally, the friendly owners or their nearby Bed & Breakfast guests may take a dip, but most of the time, the pool will be yours alone.

Inside

The ground floor offers a bright, welcoming living room with wooden floors, exposed beams, and a wood-burning stove. French doors open onto the private terrace and pool. Two comfortable sofas, including one sofa bed, invite you to unwind.
The open-plan kitchen and dining area are fully equipped and form the heart of the home. The large dining table seats six, ideal for long, leisurely dinners with a view over the valley.

First floor:

Two bedrooms with double beds
One bedroom with two single beds
Bathroom with spacious shower, basin, toilet, and heated towel rail
Separate toilet with washbasin

A further toilet and washbasin are available in the pool house. Naturally, the gîte offers Wi-Fi throughout.

Outside

The outdoor space is as charming as the interior. Enjoy the beautifully situated pool, a glass of wine on your private terrace, or the peaceful surroundings of the countryside. Private parking is available on site.

Surroundings

Gîte Laurence is located in a quiet village near Nabirat and Sarlat, in the heart of the popular Domme area. The region is ideal for walkers and cyclists, with several routes passing right by the property — some leading through vineyards to the Chai du Vin de Domme, a delightful local winery.
In the nearby village, you will find a bakery, a restaurant, a post office, and a delicatessen, while all other amenities are within a 10-minute drive.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the gite despite the heat during the week we were there. The gite was very nice. The interior is pretty simple though attractive with the exposed walls. Jean-Marie, the manager was great to deal with and very helpful. The gite is in a good location with plenty to see in the area.

We (2 persons) had a great time in the nice, cozy and well-kept house Laurence.
The warm owner welcomed us with a delicious box of fresh strawberries, picked by a friend of his.
When saying goodbye, he gave us a tasty, fresh nut cake for home.
The house was very well maintained, spacious kitchen with all amenities, clean, cozy, nice (quite narrow) bed (we used the double bed which overlooked the fields and trees and partly the pool).
The area is quiet, very beautiful, nearby cities very worthwhile.

I will be sending some more photos shortly.

Thank you again for the range of options after canceling the Pigeons and allowing us to rent this house at an attractive price.
If the weather would have cooperated (warmer, less rain, more sun) we might have liked to extend.

A single point of criticism: the water pressure (especially in the shower) is low, so it takes more time to wash your (long) hair.
As already mentioned: it is not suitable for very small children who are just starting to walk, given the amount of stairs (in and around the house) and people who have difficulty walking. small children and good mobility).

We can heartily recommend this house!

Had a wonderful holiday with the family and 2 dogs. The house is not really suitable for small children or people with walking difficulties. All groceries are available at 10 minutes by car. Activities such as visiting towns, canoeing, castles, etc. are all easy to do by car, most of them max. 30 minute drive. If you are not fluent in French, the host knows how to make himself understood in English.
