Located just 2 km from the historic town of Martel, Mirandole is a charming holiday home built in the traditional local style. Thanks to its elevated position, the property boasts breathtaking panoramic views over the rolling countryside, a landscape that served as the primary inspiration for the home’s design.

Interior

The interior is spread across three inviting levels. The ground floor features three comfortable bedrooms and several modern bathrooms. Because this level is partially built into the slope, the rooms remain naturally cool during summer, with two bedrooms opening directly onto the garden.

The first floor is the heart of the home: a spacious, open-plan living area with impressive double-height ceilings and large French doors leading to the terrace. The cozy lounge with a wood-burning stove flows seamlessly into the dining area and a fully equipped kitchen.

The second floor offers a large mezzanine with two single beds, perfect for children or guests. Modern comforts such as underfloor heating and a practical utility room ensure a worry-free stay.

Exterior

Outdoor living centers around the expansive terrace connected to the main living area. A few steps down lead to the large private pool (10 x 5 m) with Roman steps, surrounded by a sunny deck where you can enjoy stunning sunsets.

The 0.5-hectare garden has a natural feel, offering plenty of privacy, shaded spots, and a built-in barbecue for long summer evenings. In addition to ample private parking, a countryside path directly behind the house leads you through the fields to the nearby village of Baladou.

Surroundings

Mirandole is the perfect base for exploring the Dordogne Valley. In nearby Martel, you will find lively terraces, excellent restaurants, and the iconic covered market hall. The Dordogne River is just 5 km away for canoeing or swimming.

Furthermore, world-famous attractions such as the cliffside village of Rocamadour, the spectacular Gouffre de Padirac caves, and the medieval town of Sarlat-la-Canéda are all within easy reach.

It was wonderful in Mirandole. What a luxury. Very nice that the bedrooms were half in the ground, so it was always nice and cool. The kitchen was nice. The pool fantastic. Nice big garden. So the peace and quiet that we are always looking for was there. And then also a village with a bakery and a large supermarket nearby.

We enjoyed it.

Back from our holiday in Mirandole, here are our experiences. What a beautiful house! Before we left, my son, when he saw photos, thought that we had rented a château. Well, according to a definition, Mirandole will not achieve that, but what a wonderfully beautiful (holiday) home. Situated a bit higher, so if there is wind you will get a nice breeze. And what a lovely swimming pool and space in and especially around the house. The rural environment naturally offers peace and quiet, which further enhances the spatial feeling.

And wonderfully close to the beautiful medieval city of Martel. Good for everything else you need. Varied restaurants around the beautiful market hall in the center, a large supermarket but just as many small shops, where regional products are widely available. Market two days a week, some events (even though it was already September) and of course the unmissable steam train. We enjoyed this house and the surroundings, really beautiful. As far as we are concerned, the photos we sent speak for themselves.

It was, in a word, 'amazing'.

In the most literal sense of the word, 'au revoir'.

The heated swimming pool is of course wonderful. Thanks for the wine, cheese and baguette on arrival, a welcome surprise. We have not spoken to Fiona, only via text message. It wasn't necessary because everything was as you wish.

The deposit has been refunded and the service from FranceVilla was perfect again every time, thank you for that.

It was a super cool stay!! All comfort as described by you was present !! The swimming pool was also in order and every Thursday it is cleaned and checked by an external company.
