(06-2025)
We booked Villa Tessa for a very significant and poignant two week holiday and it was therefore with some trepidation - when we arrived - that the villa would meet our expectations. We had no need to worry as it was simply perfect and as described! We were met by the owners Peggy and Jerome who were extremely warm and friendly. We were fortunate in that we could speak French as their English was fairly limited but easily understandable if you do not speak the language. The villa was exactly as described by the agency - extremely spacious, furnished to a high standard and very comfortable. The three highlights for us as a family were the swimming pool which was superb and very clean, the huge gym which was better equipped than many professional operations and the outdoor cooking space which was used every night and proved invaluable. Peggy and Jerome live opposite Villa Tessa however, we only saw them three times during our stay and whilst very discreet, they were only a phone call or text away in case of a problem.
The area is simply beautiful, quiet and very peaceful however, bakers, restaurants and butchers are a mere ten mins drive away and there is a massive supermarket within 20 mins. I have no hesitation in recommending Villa Tessa for either a small family or two families that wish to holiday together. I cannot think of one negative aspect of this property, the owners or the surrounding area - it was simply perfect. The service that we received from Francevilla was nothing short of exemplary and I would certainly use their services again when booking a holiday property here or indeed Greece which may be our next destination. Well done team Francevilla, Peggy & Jerome!

(08-2024) Dear Lydia and Team,
We had a great time at Villa Tessa. Peggy was a lovely host who greeted us warmly, showed us around and left us some wine as well as some lavender oil and sachet of dried lavender from the on-site lavender fields. Villa Tessa is very well equipped with some 6 flatscreen TVs in the property, comfortable sofas and beds and the outside kitchen area was great. The gym was brilliant. It had better equipment than some commercial gyms I have been to! There was also a table football and arcade machine which my husband and sons could not get enough of.
Outside, the grounds are vast and the infinity pool is huge and enabled us to do ‘proper swimming’. The decking, furniture and umbrella gave lots of options to sunbathe throughout the day. In the evening, the hot tub was a great way to relax even more.
We found some really nice restaurants in the area. Chez Justine was the closest at Mauroux where there is a different menu each day. The staff were very accommodating to my vegan requirements and the rest of the family loved the duck dishes. L’artichaut was our favourite restaurant. They were also great at making special vegan options for me and the garden area and dogs made it really special. The best pizza we have ever tasted was to be found at Le Four in Cahors. We went there twice - driving 45mins each way it was so good! Other lovely places we ate were Le Canard a 3 Pattes and Le Peyragoud in Penne D’Agenais which has a great micro brewery next door.
There are many activities within reach of the property. I did lots of running, there was boat hire near Penne d’Agenais, go-karting at Cahors (although this is quite dangerous and my son was thrown out of the kart) electric bike hire near the villa (which we didn’t do), the fantastic castle Biron which has views for 30miles in all directions!
All in all we had a brilliant time and the weather was great. Thank you to France Villa and Peggy and her husband who made the process so simple.
We will definitely use France Villa again and would book Villa Tess again - although we do like to try other places and would be looking for somewhere within walking distance of a village or town next time.
Many thanks,
Helen
