We thoroughly enjoyed our two-week holiday in Del Teil (La Bachellerie). A heavenly holiday home in the Dordogne. Upon our arrival, we were welcomed by an enthusiastic Fanny. We received explanations about everything. Del Teil is a holiday home with everything you could wish for. Clean, tidy, and hygienic.

Beautiful interior, a gorgeous living room, a fully perfectly equipped kitchen, a delightful enclosed garden, a lovely swimming pool, and a robotic lawnmower and pool cleaner. The bedroom with dressing room and bathroom on the ground floor remained cool, even with outside temperatures between 36 and 42 degrees. The pool water was always 27 degrees. Super!

Our adopted Spanish greyhound felt right at home in that garden. In the village, there is a small shop for groceries and a terrace for a nice refreshing drink. Open until 20:30. Supermarkets such as Carrefour, Lidl, Aldi, Auchan, and Leclercq can be found about 7 to 12 km away. Very convenient for larger purchases. The village is very neat, has a beautiful park, and there are lovely walks to be had nearby.

Our neighbor Bernard is a great guy. I call him Saint Bernard, referring to that dog breed. He is never pushy but always willing to help or provide information. He brought vegetables from his own garden and other delicacies.

We have rented houses for 22 years in Cyprus, Sicily, Southern Spain, the Algarve in Portugal, Normandy, and Brittany. But Del Teil is at the top of our list of all those houses.

We are so extremely satisfied that we have already booked for June 2027. I can recommend Del Teil to everyone. You can stay there like a king.

PS: don't all come at once, because then there won't be any room left for us. To everyone: Marieke, Martijn, Fanny, Saint Bernard and his wife Brigitte, a huge, huge thank you and a warm hug.

We are back home and thoroughly enjoyed our house in La Bachellerie. A quiet, sleepy village with a small supermarket. The bakery is no longer there. It was a nice, spacious house for 2 people, fully equipped with all amenities. The first week was changeable but the weather was fine, allowing us to light the fireplace in the evening. Bernard the neighbor came to bring a wheelbarrow of wood, and Brigitte's wife brought fresh eggs. A tip upon arrival is to clearly display the number 3 on the house. The navigation system sent us past it. The second week it was suddenly 35 degrees, so we enjoyed the pool a lot. The dog could roam freely in the garden, which was well fenced. We went on many excursions. We visited gardens, castles, villages, and towns, went on canoe trips, hikes, and even played golf with the dog twice—great fun! Two nice tips for dining: in Terrasson, "La Mandragore" offers a beautiful view and delicious food. In the small village of La Dornac, there is the Italian restaurant "Le Paoli". Delicious food, a cozy atmosphere, and enthusiastic owners.

What did we like best? The spacious house, lovely garden, and swimming pool. We would definitely recommend it to family or friends. Personally, I missed the view due to an iron garden fence, but within 2 minutes you were right in the middle of nature. It was our first time staying 3 weeks in the same place, but we really enjoyed it. You automatically slow down, and the days feel and seem longer.

The Dordogne holds a special place in our hearts, although we have already been to Lille and Boulogne sur Mer this year and are heading towards Marseille in 3 weeks to close out the season on the Côte d'Azur in October.

As always, it was like coming home to Bernard and Brigitte, the owners of Del Teil and Remietta in la Bachellerie. The warm welcome by Lillette and Brigitte was very nice. We really enjoyed the pool and garden as the temperatures were still high for early October. The house is nice and nice and cool, everything you need is there. When we told Bernard that the gas bottle for the plancha was empty, he was immediately there with a new full bottle. The owners live near Del Teil and do everything they can to ensure their guests have a pleasant holiday. We had a great time in Del Teil. We knew the area by now, but it remains astonishingly beautiful!
The house itself was absolutely wonderful! It all started festively with the warm welcome by Mrs. Lilette (she represents the owner, Mr. Bernard Deltreuil, who lives next door to the house and is descendant of an important person from the village of La Bachellerie). The outdoor area is magnificent: a spacious loft that offers very good protection against the sun and heat. With an outdoor fridge including freezer!!! A baking and grill plate. And curtains against the bright sunlight. We had had temperatures above 30 degrees for a few days in September and then the loft and the pool were a welcome refreshment.
Inside, the living room is very cozy and cosily furnished with comfortable sofas. The kitchen is fully equipped. There are also a few cozy lounge chairs in the kitchen where it was also nice to eat.
The bedroom on the ground floor (we were just the two of us so we didn't use the top floor, which is also very spacious) is very cool and the bed was nice.
What really appealed to me was the massage shower next to the downstairs bedroom. It was wonderful to stand in that shower after a very long drive from the Netherlands and also because of the heat. It was good sleep!
WIFI works well and the 4G coverage was excellent but I think that's also because La Bachellerie is high in the hills.
The only tip I would like to give guests of Del Teil is: close the pool so that the water stays nice and warm if you want to swim early the next day.
We had a very pleasant and pleasant stay in Del Teil and the area (Dordogne) is beautiful. And we also had a very nice meal in Thenon and Montignac! We can wholeheartedly recommend Del Teil!
It was again a pleasure for us to book a holiday accommodation through you Lydia and Thijs. We look forward to using your services again next year!
