(08-2024) Dear Thijs,

Thank you very much, we found a well-equipped house. We have of course replenished what we used up. It is a lovely house. We are very happy to have found this wonderful accommodation.

Kind regards,
Jeanne

We stayed with our family for a week in the Perigourdine house and that was actually too short! The house is located in a beautiful spot in the Dordogne, just a 10-minute drive from Gourdon. There are several restaurants there (Le Pot Occitan is highly recommended), bakeries and two large supermarkets where you can get everything. And on Thursdays in the summer there is a food truck evening with music.

Upon arrival we were kindly greeted by Mickaella, who arranges the reception on behalf of the owners. She speaks good English, so we quickly received all the information about the house and the area. This was very thorough and clear.

The house itself is really equipped with all the comforts; neat rooms with nice mattresses, good and clean bathrooms, a spacious and very complete kitchen (including bean coffee maker!). Right next to the spacious living room is the veranda where you can have a good breakfast in the morning. The living area is on the first floor, which gives you a beautiful view of the gardens.

Outside it is really a pleasure for children and parents; a very large swimming pool and many shady seating areas and eating areas. There are also several swings, hammocks and a ping-pong table with bats and balls. And all of this on a huge, detached plot with complete privacy and plenty of space for parking. For the children, this was ideal for playing football and frisbee. In the garden, salamanders walk around, you can hear the crickets and you come across many butterflies, which gave us even more of a holiday feeling. Because you are more in the countryside, the internet range is somewhat variable, but fortunately there was WiFi inside.

In the area, within a 20-minute drive, you have many opportunities to canoe on the Dordogne. The routes from Cenac are very beautiful along many castles. The Aqua Park Monkey Island and climbing forest (less than a 10-minute drive) are also very worthwhile. And a little further away, the caves Gouffre de Padirac and Proumeyssac and the great town of Sarlat.

This house is really excellent for larger families and families, or if you like privacy and luxury. We enjoyed ourselves and will definitely return to this beautiful house!
