Villa Xara is a beautiful villa, very modern, and everything is very neat, clean, well-maintained, and fully equipped. The separate studio was a real treat for our children, ideal with its own shower and toilet.
The outdoor terrace and pool were also wonderful; the pool is well-maintained and more than big enough for the children to swim endlessly.
The quiet location is excellent; there's a good taverna within walking distance where we ate several times. The town of Plakias is very close and easily accessible by car. There are many lovely restaurants there, authentic Greek restaurants, and they also have delicious food for the children. Rethymno, a larger tourist town with charming alleyways and charming shops, is also within easy reach. There's plenty to see and do in the area. We also rented a boat for a day in the harbor of Plakias, which was definitely recommended!
The villa is very privately situated, surrounded by other villas, so you don't hear anything. A minor drawback is that the road in front of the villa is used by several other villa owners and they park their cars there.
We had a wonderful holiday, thanks in part to the comfortable villa, with many fun outings combined with relaxing by the pool. Communication upon arrival was very smooth; Sylvia gave us some great tips and was easily accessible.

We felt very comfortable in the accommodation. The rooms are very nice, new, clean and excellently equipped. It is interesting to know that one bedroom incl. Bathroom is located in a separate bungalow. Since we were two couples, this room layout was ideal for us. The terrace is very spacious and the view fantastic. A great tavern can be reached within walking distance, where we often and like to dine. From the accommodation you have the opportunity to reach many beautiful beaches in a few minutes by car. It was a great holiday and we recommend the place!

Everything was as in the description, especially I liked the location of the villa and the generously landscaped terrace. Nice tavern with beautiful view, within walking distance. To Plakias only a few minutes, but car is necessary or recommended. Great beaches and very good diving school very close. We got a lot of tips and always quick help. I really recommend this place, even for two couples, because there are separate bedrooms and bathrooms. Great excursion possibilities to the east or west possible, e.g. Matala.. Beautiful canyon very close....swimming beach in Souda with very good tavern.... Preveli beach with palm forest was beautiful, although very crowded in August.. We will definitely come back....

We were allowed to spend 10 days in Villa Xara and felt very comfortable. Everything was exactly as the pictures show. The children loved their own cottage with bedroom and bathroom. The facilities, the pool, the view were great. We also grilled with the gas grill, delicious meat, bifteki, souflaki and fish can be bought fresh at the butcher in Plakias or fresh at Interspar. We had a great holiday, were on many different beaches and made great excursions. (Rethymno, Loutro, Preveli Monastery, Triopetra, Kourtiliatikoschlucht, Kournaslake,etc.) We highly recommend the villa and will definitely come back!

Villa Xara is just great! Starting with flexible check-in and great amenities. We felt comfortable from the first second. Everything has really been thought of. The location is ideal with a beautiful view of the sea and you have your peace and quiet. In 5-10 minutes you are in Plakias and on the nearest beaches. We were often in Rethymno in the evening (about 30 minutes drive). There are great tavernas in the area and in Plakias you will find everything you need. Thank you for the wonderful holiday! We will be back.
