Important information and general house rules

We wish you a pleasant stay in your holiday home. To ensure that your holiday and those of future guests runs as smoothly as possible, we ask you to carefully read and respect the information and house rules below.

By staying in an accommodation booked through FranceVilla, you agree to these house rules.

Important to know (quick overview):

  1. Respect arrival and departure times as stated on your reservation.
  2. Report damage or any irregularities immediately upon arrival or during your stay.
  3. Leave the property tidy, regardless of the final cleaning service.
  4. Respect the peace and quiet of the surroundings, especially between 23:00 and 08:00.
  5. Only the agreed number of persons may use the accommodation.
  6. Read the following information carefully to ensure a pleasant stay.

Directions
The address provided in the directions often does not include a street name and house number. This is very common for the locations of our accommodations. Therefore, always use the GPS coordinates or the Google Maps link provided in the directions.

Security deposit
Your reservation form specifies how the security deposit is to be paid: either on-site upon arrival or in advance to FranceVilla.

On-site deposit Payment
If the deposit is paid on-site, you will hand it over to the owner or manager upon arrival, often in cash. We advise you to request a receipt. If you leave the accommodation tidy and without damage at the end of your stay, your deposit will be returned. If you depart at a time other than agreed, the owner may decide to refund the deposit via bank transfer.

To avoid any misunderstandings, we recommend performing a joint inspection with the owner or manager upon both arrival and departure.

Deposit payment via FranceVilla
If you pay the deposit to FranceVilla along with your second payment installment, FranceVilla will handle the refund. Provided the accommodation is left in good condition, the deposit is usually refunded within 10 days of your return to the account used for payment. Please allow 1 to 2 business days for bank processing.

If something breaks during your stay (e.g., a glass or a plate), we kindly ask you to replace it or report it to us.

Arrival and departure
We ask you to respect the indicated times to allow sufficient time for the accommodation to be thoroughly cleaned and prepared.

Arrival
The standard arrival time is 16:00 (sometimes 17:00), as stated on your reservation confirmation.

Departure
The standard departure time is 10:00 (sometimes 09:00). We ask you to respect this time so that the final inspection and cleaning can take place promptly. If you depart at a different time that prevents a final inspection, the owner may deduct the cost of any damage or deficiencies found afterward from the deposit.

Use of the accommodation

  • The accommodation may only be used by the agreed number of persons.
  • Extra guests are only permitted with prior consent.
  • Subletting or use by third parties without permission is prohibited.
  • Commercial activities, business meetings, or film shoots are not permitted.
  • Camping on the grounds is not allowed.
  • The owner/lessor may, if necessary and by arrangement, access the grounds for maintenance (e.g., pool or garden maintenance).
  • We request that you close parasols during wind or when absent and treat garden furniture and cushions with care.

In the event of a violation and/or damage, the owner/manager may terminate the stay without a refund, and the deposit may be withheld.

Inspection upon arrival
We advise you to briefly inspect the accommodation upon arrival. If you notice any damage, defects, or missing items, please report this to the owner or manager within 24 hours. This allows us to resolve any issues quickly and prevents misunderstandings later.

Cleaning
Although a final cleaning is performed, we expect you to leave the accommodation tidy. Out of respect for the owner and the next guests, we ask you to do the following before departure:

  • Sweep or vacuum the floors.
  • Do the dishes and leave the kitchen tidy.
  • Empty the dishwasher.
  • Take trash to the designated local containers.
  • Leave the barbecue clean after use.
  • Strip the beds of all linen.

If the property is left excessively dirty, extra cleaning costs may be deducted from the security deposit.

Energy consumption
We ask you to be mindful of energy use. Close windows and doors when using air conditioning and, if available, cover the pool at night to limit heat loss.

Noise and respect for the surroundings
Please respect the peace of the area and be mindful of neighbors. Quiet hours apply between 23:00 and 08:00 (unless otherwise indicated). Always follow the instructions of the owner/lessor.

Pets
Pets must always be registered in advance at the time of booking. Unregistered pets may be grounds for refused entry. If pets are permitted, the following basic rules apply:

  • No pets on sofas or beds.
  • No pets in the swimming pool.
  • Clean regularly to manage pet hair.
  • Leave the garden "poop-free."

Extra cleaning costs may be withheld from the deposit if these rules are not followed.

Swimming pool

  • Use of the swimming pool is at your own risk.

  • Always keep a close watch on children; FranceVilla or the owner/lessor is not liable for accidents in or around the pool, unless there is proven lack of maintenance or gross negligence.

  • We request that you do not enter the pool directly after applying sunscreen or oil to prevent damage to the water and filter system; please rinse off first.

  • In the early and late seasons, the pool may not be open or heated. Please check this with us before your stay.

  • Pool heating: Ensure the cover is used at night to retain heat. Extra electricity costs may be charged for high consumption if stated on your reservation.

Sheets and towels
A towel set usually consists of one large and one small towel. Towels are intended for indoor use; you must bring your own pool towels.

Charging electric vehicles
If you wish to charge an electric car via a standard wall socket, always discuss this with the owner/lessor first.

Sewage system
Many accommodations have their own private sewage/septic system. Therefore, do not flush diapers, wet wipes, tampons, or similar products down the toilet.

Waste
Waste is usually not collected door-to-door. You must take your trash to the local communal containers. The location of these containers can be found in the information folder on-site.

Internet/Wi-Fi
Internet/Wi-Fi is only available if mentioned in the accommodation description. No guarantee is given regarding speed or availability. Illegal downloads are prohibited.
